Arrived in Caraz Roosevelt took pictures of some ceramics in the collection of Mario Augusto Soriano Infante (1903-1975) a local priest and researcher interested in the archaeology and history of the Callejón de Huaylas, and friend of Julio C. Tello. There is also a picture of a partial view of a plaza and church in the city of Yungay, city destroyed and buried in a landslide after an earthquake in 1970.
